Day 15 Broken heart- peace of mind and peace of heart

My prodigal son story earlier also has a story about a wonderfull little baby girl who was put into the foster care system.  She was born with holes in her lungs, hole in heart, kidney problems, and has had cancer twice removed.  She is only one. and is a beautiful little girl, and been cancer free for three months,  I was told by bio mom i was not allowed to see her and acquired to see her at human services but was told to leave and go get a lawyer.  I then get a call later on from my son in prison saying he needed medical history papers filled out and who to contact at human sercvices,  my son begged me that day to go and try and save his daughter so we acquired about her and have got to see her for three visits.  I had no peace in my heart on this situation i would cry and i wanted to adopt the baby but we were told we would not be picked due to being late in  the picture which we had no control over we were told get a lawyer but would loose cause they choose the foster family over us.  I felt if i couldnt save my son , that maybe I could save his daughter and have a piece of him with me.  That was wrong.  Like I said I cant save him or anyone else God only can.  After many tears, madness, sadness, and mixed emotions.  I told the foster mom that I loved my granddaughter but know they can give her a better life.  She has more upcoming surgeries coming up and she has more medical background then me.  it was hard to walk away But God has given me peace knowing its for the babys best interest.  I am very thankfull to say they are a good Christian family and even though they dont do open adoption anymore the family has agreed to let us keep contact with our granddaughter.

Day 14 The prodigal son

I have my oldest son who is lost and incarcerated.  Its not a pleasant story to share but I had to have some peace on this subject.  My mind and my heart as a mom had no peace seeing him locked up and helping to raise his kids he is not allowed to see.  I asked God to open his eyes, and I believe he will but it will be on Gods time and not mine.  I begged and pleaded with him to make peace with God and himself.  He is currently incarcerated now too.  I thought I could save him, control him and keep him out of trouble.  THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE HIM IS GOD .  I had no peace in my mind or heart for his situation.  I would literally make myself sick, over his situations.  I had to give this to God and prayed God would give me some kind of peace in my mind and heart over this situation.    God is good and is seeing me threw this yes it hurts,  but I feel in my mind and heart that God has given me some peace over this situation.  A parent never wants to see there child fall, a mom tends to want to fix everything and make everything better,  but like I said God is the only one who can fix him .  Waiting faithfully for my happy ending of the prodigal son.

Day 13 Things that are peacefull to me

Things that bring alot of peace to me are my kids, seeing them grow more in Christ- my church and church family, reaching out to the lost letting them know they can receive peace threw Jesus- my pets- sometimes when there is no one else they are there and love you unconditionally just like our God does.  Going for a car ride on a nice day, listening to music, having the extra study and prayer time with God.  When we have no hope the Lord has shown me there is peace of mind and heart threw him.

Day 12 Crazy Holidays

Just wanted to say I took my family to walmart the other day.  It was not very peacefull people would not let you in aisles – you would say excuse me and they wouldnt let you.  There was no peace at walmart and I became a little angry.  Later on when we got home I was praying for forgiveness for being so irritable.  I am usually done shopping by now and everything wrapped, but as I gotten a little older I am not fast as I used to be.  I just wish people could be more friendly and have a peacefull enviorment.   Instead of being rude.  This just reminds me that its Jesus’s birthday more then going to get all these gifts

Day 11 having others to look at us for peace

People spend their whole lives working for peace.  Unfortunately true peace is not something that can be achieved, it can only be received .  True peace can only come from God.  John 14:27  This peace doesnt affect our surroundings, it affects our inner souls.  Paul says it will go deep into our hearts and minds.  It is only something that can be received by God.  As a follower of Jesus, we should be the ones looked to when others need peace.  Not because our surroundings are peacefull but because our hearts and mind are at peace with God through the death of Christ on the cross.

Day 10- Peace

Dont worry about anything, instead pray about everything.  Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand.  His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ.  Phillipians 4:6-7

God;s peace does not come from what or who we are, but from what God has done- how he has justified us in response to our faith.  But we cant have this transforming effect if we are fighting with God, resisting His plan and purpose for our lives, then we wont experience this supernatural peace.

You cant have the peace of  God until you first have with God.

Day 9 Experiencing Gods’s peace

Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand, do not be anxious about anything but in everything by and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made to God and the peace of God, which is suprasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:5-7.

Notice the 2 areas of peaceful protection we can expect from our Heavenly Father: Our hearts and our minds.  God will guard those two parts of us, eighteen inches apart, which seem to conspire against us.   If our hearts are troubled, it wont be long before our minds will be in turmoil.  If our thoughts are headed in the wrong direction, our hearts will soon follow.  But God’s peace,, the assurance of His control, can guard both the heart and mind no matter what we are facing.

Day 7 Family tradition

I started this tradition a long time ago when the kids were little-with having 5 kids they dont get alot of one on one parent time.  My tradition for them is to make out a Christmas list of their siblings, Mom, Dad, and teachers.  Then I take them individually shopping and out to eat their choice.  Tonight I took my 18 year old Tim.  I told  him how I hope he carries  on the tradition with his family one of these days.  I set a budget amount with the kids to shop with. Some years we have more others years less.  The point is its not how much you spend or get. its the thought of someone cared enough to to get you a gift. Its Jesus’s birthday and a season of love, forgivenes, peace with our family’s.

Day 6 Let it Snow

I woke up this this morning after being sick for 6 days with the flu.I heard we would be getting some snow.  Not only is it beautiful but peacefull to watch.  It reminds me to be gratefull for the little things in life.  We didnt have snow last year at Christmas, I really believe it sets a peacefull mood to have snow on Christmas day.  Snow reminds me of the times being a kid and doing cardboard sledding if we couldnt afford a sled, doing snow angels, playing in the old snow mound by the old high school. Friends were friends back then and we would make up peacefully, Society has changed alot and with every generation- theres not alot of peace any more, but theres violence and hate.  We need to pray daily  for world peace and for others who need to have more peace in their  lives.
